In the last lockdown one of the things that kept me sane was my morning walks up Glastonbury Tor. I felt very lucky to be able to be there and share the magic with others through my photographs. I hope to do the same in this lockdown and the first week started well with some misty sunrises. This was a beautiful scene as the sun rose. I can't begin to describe the sense of wonder and peace as the mists rolled across the landscape. It is almost like you hold your breath while surveying the scene below.
I was fortunate enough to get the above photograph published in the national press. Getting photographs published, as nice as it is, is not my motivation for getting up early and trekking up the Tor most days. My motivation is to try and conquer any fears and anxiety in life, particularly this year. I also love to share the images and keep people connected with Avalon in a year that many have been unable to visit this magical place.
I took these next two images on the first day of lockdown 2 and it was as if it was a message saying everything will be alright. At least that is what I took from it. It was a very special morning and as the mists had been predicted there were quiet a few people up there witnessing the magic. It is so lovely to share the experience with others and each and every person up there could be heard to say Wow more than once and everyone had a smile on their face. Unusual in these times.
It is difficult to describe my connection with Glastonbury Tor. I love the energy there, sense of peace and the views below. The only way I can begin to describe it is through my photographs. It has been an emotional year and so very stressful for many including me. We will get through this and people will again be able to visit this beautiful, wondrous place. Glastonbury will still be here and waiting.
As a photograph of hope this last one was also taken this week.
This is published via my website and all comments are appreciated. I read them all but unfortunately the Wix blog function does not let me reply to people. They hope to bring this function in the future but for now I will just read and like.
Blessings from Avalon 💜
